Opening of the Seventh Judicial Year of the Constitutional Court of Kosovo, Kosovo26 - 27 October 2016

Upon invitation of the President of the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Kosovo, Mrs. Arta Rama- Hajrizi, the President of the Constitutional Court of Albania Mr. Bashkim Dedja, accompanied by the Director of Cabinet, Mr. Aleksandër Toma, attended the solemn ceremony of the opening the seventh judicial year of the Constitutional Court of Kosovo, which took place in Prishtina, on 26 October 2016. The highest state officials, representatives of accredited diplomatic missions and international organizations in Kosovo, as well as high-level delegations from the Constitutional Courts of the region (Albania, Macedonia, Turkey, Croatia, Bulgaria, and Montenegro) participated in this ceremony.

On the occasion of marking the new judicial year, the Constitutional Court of Kosovo organized on 27 October 2016 the international conference on the topic: “Incidental control as a constitutional mechanism in ensuring the constitutionality of laws in the countries in transition”.

Different aspects of incidental control were presented in the keynote speech of the President of the Constitutional Court of Kosovo Mrs. Arta Rama-Hajrizi and also in the speeches made by the President of the Constitutional Court of Albania, Mr. Bashkim Dedja, the President of the High Court of Albania, Mr. Xhezair Zaganjori, the President of the Constitutional Court of Macedonia, Ms. Elena Gosheva, and judges of the constitutional courts of Portugal, Turkey and Bulgaria.
