On 21-23 May 2014, was held in Valetta, Malta, the 17th International Judicial Conference, organized by Furth Family Foundation, the University of Michigan Law School and the International Foundation for Electoral Systems (IFES). Topics that focused on International Judicial Conference of this year were: "The Rule of Law in diverse cultures," "First Principles: Constitutions, Legal Systems and the Judiciary," "The role of the Judiciary in electoral settings," and "Sharia in a Civil setting and Rule of Law."
The Constitutional Court of Albania was represented at the event by a delegation consisting of Mr. Besnik Imeraj and Mr. Fatos Lulo, members of the Constitutional Court.
This conference is an annual meeting of judges of Constitutional Courts, High Courts and Arbitrage Courts from different countries of the world, who gather and discuss important issues regarding the independence of the Judiciary and strengthening the Rule of Law.
