On January 24, 2017, the President of the Constitutional Court of Albania, Mr. Bashkim Dedja, received in an official meeting the new Head of the Council of Europe Office in Tirana, Mr.Claus Neukirch.
During the meeting they appreciated the previous institutional cooperation as very successful and expressed the goodwill to continue this cooperation by identifying the relevant means of its realization, especially in the context of the current constitutional amendments being undertaken in Albania in the framework of the judicial reform where the Constitutional Court, as a part of these changes, has an important role to play.
The Council of Europe Office in Tirana, established in 2011, currently supports the implementation of eleven projects in different areas: efficiency of justice; action against corruption, economic crime and organized crime; freedom of expression; anti-discrimination and respect for human rights; social inclusion and democratic governance.
