Participation of a delegation of the Constitutional Court of Albania in the workshop "Interaction of the Constitutional Court of Kosovo with ordinary courts," Pristina, Kosovo, June 13th, 2013.

The President of the Constitutional Court of Albania, Mr. Bashkim Dedja, accompanied by the Director of Cabinet, Mr. Aleksandër Toma, took part in the workshop "Interaction of the Constitutional Court with ordinary courts,” which was held in Pristina on June 13th, 2013.
 
The seminar was organized by the Constitutional Court and the Supreme Court of the Republic of Kosovo, in cooperation with the Mission EULEX.

This activity was greeted by the President of the Assembly of EULEX Judges, Mr. Charles L. Smith III, as well as by the President of the Supreme Court of Kosovo, Mr. Fejzullah Hasani.
The presentation of Mr. Bashkim Dedja focused on the issues concerning the place and role of the Albanian Constitutional Court in the judicial system; the relationship between the Constitutional Court and ordinary courts in Albania and the relevant case law; advantages and disadvantages in strengthening the process before the Constitutional Court through the expansion of its powers; and importance of control over the country's judicial system, as well as best practices in the region, especially in Albania, to avoid and overcome potential conflicts between the Constitutional Court and the ordinary courts.

In this activity discussed also Mr. Jack Tunheim, U.S. District Judge, on the topic: "The importance of control of the Constitutional Court of the United States over the ordinary courts", and Dr. Sc Fejzullah Hasani, President of the Supreme Court, on the topic: "The importance of control of the Constitutional Court of Kosovo vis - à - vis the ordinary courts."
