Official visit of the delegation of the Constitutional Court of Albania in Romania, November 18 - 21, 2015

At the invitation of the President of the Constitutional Court of Romania Augustin Zegrean, a delegation of the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Albania, composed of the President Bashkim Dedja, judges Besnik Imeraj and Sokol Berberi, and the Director of Cabinet of the President, Aleksandër Toma, took part in a joint activity between the two constitutional courts focused on the topic "Current jurisprudence of the Constitutional Court of Albania and the Constitutional Court of Romania". Participants of this joint meeting exchanged their respective experiences related to the decision-making of both constitutional courts in the light of the case law of the European Court of Human Rights.

In his speech, the President Dedja underlined the challenges that are actually facing the constitutional courts in the countries of new democracies, including Albania too.

 

The President of Constitutional Court of Romania, Augustin Zegrean, presented some important aspects of the jurisprudence of the Constitutional Court of Romania.

 

The reference to the case law of the ECHR has created a valid and effective interdependence between the constitutional court and the jurisprudence of the ECHR, upon which these courts continuously orient their decision making.

 

In honor of the delegation of the Constitutional Court of Albania, the Constitutional Court of Romania organized a special social program representing historical and touristic values of Romania.
