Jubilee year of the Constitutional Court
May 19th, 1992 represents a very significant date in the history of constitutional justice. This date is related with the beginning of the activity of the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Albania, which was established in the framework of the main constitutional provisions and in force legislation. On the occasion of the 30th Anniversary of its foundation, the Constitutional Court will organize a number of activities that will take place in the fall of this year.
This is a great opportunity to express the highest considerations to all members and Presidents of the Constitutional Court over the years, who have been dedicated to their work in order to give this Court the authority and standards of its homologue ones.
This historic day for the Albanian constitutional justice casts your mind back to those who laid the foundations of constitutional justice. Some of them are no longer alive, but their names will live through this Court decisions, and on this jubilee date their commemoration becomes more meaningful.
Furthermore, the current body of the Constitutional Court is determined to continue on this path and consolidate its essential role in respecting the fundamental human rights and freedoms, constitutional principles such as the separation and balancing of powers, the rule of law, democracy and supremacy of the Constitution.
