Study and working visits for the year 2012

In the framework of the agreement of cooperation signed between the Constitutional Court of Albania and the Constitutional Court of Italy in June 2009, a delegation of the Albanian Constitutional Court composed of Mr. Kujtim Osmani, Secretary General, Ms. Noela Ruco, Mrs. Alma Çomo, Mr. Kujtim Sheshi, directors, and Mrs. Arta Vorpsi, Mr. Dardan Mustafaj, Mr. Alban Brati, legal advisors, paid a study visit at the Constitutional Court of Italy, on November 22 – 23, 2012.

A delegation of the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Albania, composed of Mr. Bashkim Dedja, President, and Mr. Xhezair Zaganjori, member, attended the International Conference on “Promotion of Democracy and the Rule of Law by the IRZ Foundation – 20 Years of International Legal Cooperation,”which was held in Berlin, Germany, in the framework of the 20th Anniversary of the Foundation for International Legal Cooperation (IRZ).

On the invitation of the President of the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Kosovo, Prof. Dr. Enver Hasani, a delegation of the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Albania composed of Mr. Bashkim Dedja, President, and Mr. Aleksandër Toma, Chief of Cabinet, took part in the 3rd solemn ceremony of inauguration of the new judicial year of the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Kosovo, which was held in Pristina.

On the invitation of the President of the Constitutional Court of Austria, Prof. Dr. Gerhart Holzinger, it was organized in Vienna, Austria, the Preparatory Meeting of the Circle of Presidents in the framework of preparations for the 16th Congress of the Conference of European Constitutional Courts, to be held in Vienna, from 12 – 14 May 2014.

On the occasion of the 20th Anniversary of the Constitutional Court of Romania and celebration of 100 years since the affirmation of constitutional review of laws in Romania, it was organized in Bucharest the International Conference on “Constitutional Review – Tradition and perspectives.”

A delegation of the Constitutional Court of Albania, composed of Mr. Bashkim Dedja, President of the Court, Mrs. Vitore Tusha and Mr. Fatmir Hoxha, Judges, and Mr. Aleksandër Toma, Chief of Cabinet, paid an official visit at the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Slovenia.

At the invitation of the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Kosovo, a delegation of the Constitutional Court of Albania composed of Mr. Kujtim Osmani, Secretary General, legal advisors, heads of departments, and other representatives of the administration staff of the court, paid an official visit at the Constitutional Court of Kosovo.

A delegation of the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Albania, composed of Mr. Bashkim Dedja, President, and Mr. Kujtim Osmani, Secretary General, took part in the International Symposium and other activities organized in the framework of 50th Anniversary of the foundation of the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Turkey.

On the invitation of Prof. Dr. Rainer Arnold and German Foundation of International Legal Cooperation (IRZ), a delegation of the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Albania composed of Mr. Bashkim Dedja, President, Mr. Xhezair Zaganjori, member, and Mrs. Arta Vorpsi, legal adviser, attended the 14th International Congress on European and Comparative Constitutional Law, which was held in Regensburg, Germany, and was focused on the topics: “Constitutional Courts and Politics” and “National and Constitutional Identity from the Perspective of Constitutional Courts.”

On the invitation of the European Commission for Democracy through Law (Venice Commission), a delegation of the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Albania composed of Ms. Noela Ruço, Head of Studies, Researches and Publications Department, and Mrs. Alma Çomo, Head of Public and International Relations Department, took part in the International Conference on: “The rule of law as a practical concept,” which was organized in co-operation with the Foreign and Commonwealth Office of the United Kingdom and with the Bingham Centre for the Rule of Law.
